Milano Girls Weekend...

Howdy!
This past weekend in Milan we had gorgeous warm sunny days, at around 15 degrees per day, and completely unexpected for February. I remember last year in February it was still really cold, and felt like we were still in the midst of winter, whereas this year, people are already mentioning spring with a happy glint in the eye, and the general mood around the city is changing.
During this weekend I had visitors from the UK, actually for a Hens Weekend, and so I was super pleased that the weather decided to co-operate. It's always a tiny bit stressful when people come to visit here in Milan because it's not my home city, yet, after being here for nearly five years I have lots of favourite places and so I always really hope that my visitors agree.
On Friday night, we had a great dinner at the Osteria Del Gnocco Fritto, (Via Pasquale Paoli 2, Milano) which is just off Naviglio Grande. The gnocchi fritti and pasta dishes were just delicious. Also excellent was the service, atmosphere and the bill too! I had suggested a visit to the beautiful Corso Como 10 so on Saturday after a morning of wandering around Parco Sempione, the Castle and the Arena I joined the rest of the group and we walked up to Corso Como to visit this luxurious one of a kind concept store, bar, restaurant and gallery. The photo exhibition that is being held there at the moment is one which includes photos of the Palace of Versailles, and is really nicely done. Every year I always look forward to the World Press Photo exhibition that shows in Milan at the Galleria Carla Sozzani; or basically upstairs from the main store / restaurant at Corso Como 10, and usually starts from about every April for approximately one month. Because it was such a glorious day, we decided to continue wandering and made our way back towards the centre along Corso Garibaldi, enjoying some shopping along the way. I mean when you have seven women on a Saturday afternoon in Milan....it has to be an afternoon of shopping!!
For Saturday night, it was time for some dancing, so off we went to Il Gattopardo Cafe, (Via Piero della Francesca, 47) and as per usual the evening started off slowly and by midnight the ex Church was packed with people dancing the night away! We did stumble out later in the evening and yesterday there was the odd hangover being felt!! It should always be remembered that Italian cocktails are much stronger than those found in  a lot of other countries, and almost everyone I know has had a hangover to prove this!
However it was a great night, and one to be remembered, as was the weekend. Yesterday, we could only but say: "What happens in Milan, stays in Milan"!!

Here are some photos taken over the weekend, of Castello Sforzesco, Parco Sempione, Corso Como 10 & Piazza Duomo...
